DUET 05.2011 - NEWS & OFFICE

RYO

-Did you have some opportunity to do a self-introduction recently?
I did! During the first meeting for the new drama "Inu wo kau..." I said: "Nice to meet you. I'll do my best to be able to exchange telephone numbers with everybody!". I'm shy but I tried my best because I think that it's important to greet properly.

-Do you have any secret for your self-appeal?
I don't think I have an appeal at all but I guess the best is to always try to show your honesty. Like, if you're shy you must show your courage and greet people with a voice louder than normal.

-Which type of girl you notice since the first meeting?
I love girls who smile a lot. I can't talk too much during a first meeting so it's ok if the other doesn't try to hard to talk a lot. Because the most important thing is the feeling. I think that if you have some common interests you will definitively be able to talk a little. Then, I like girls who bring plasters and tissues! It shows somehow a casual carefulness...I think it's very feminine. It's ok if they don't do stuff like parting the salade for me when we're eating though. If they are too much careful it gives the opposite effect. Because for those stuff you must wait the right timing.

-Teach us your way of making friends!
I never think since the beginning that I'd like to increase my friends' ring. The friends with whom I always go out are around 10, at my birthday they can reach 50 people...that's enough. Usually possible new friends are friends of friends, right? If they are friends of my beloved friends they must be nice guys, right!?

-"If you become my friend you'll have this profit!" - Which one?
Mmm...none (lol). If I must say one, you can leave to me any problem with electrical appliances' wiring! Then, if you want to visit Oosaka I can show you around. In reality lately I've been to Osaka with 3 friends but I brought them to eat plain Sanuki Udon, instead of Takoyaki or Okonomiyaki (lol). They couldn't taste the typical Osaka at all like that. I mean, I can't assure you any sure profit.

-What kind of person makes you think: "I want to be his/her friend!"?
People who can laugh in any circumstance. Somebody who is better than me in something, computer or games, anything is ok.

-Who in NEWS seems good to make friends or to have many friends?
Everybody except me. Koyama seems good to make new friends. He's very sociable.

-If you didn't do this job what would you been doing now?
Architect. My mom is a real estate agent so I'm familiar with 'plans' since I was a kid. I used to play drawing copying them on graph paper. I'm not an architect but I can draw the plan of a house. I'd like to design my future house by myself.

-If NEWS were a society, who would be the boss, the new guy, etc...what job would you have?
Of course I'd want to start a business on my own so I'd be the CEO (lol). Then, P would be the official president, the one who deals with the medias. Massu would work in the general affairs section. Shige in the business. Koyama seems

to have the right balance to be the middle manager. Tegoshi is the new employee.

-A thing that made you say: "That's fresh!" recently.
I went to snowboard and we slided on the new snow, nobody touched it before us. The fresh snow is so good!

KOYAMA

-Did you have some opportunity to do a self-introduction recently?
I do it everytime I go to a location for "News every.". Watching the other in the eyes I say: "I'm Koyama Keiichiro from 'News every'. I'm in your hands for today!". I also have business card printed for the show, exchanging them makes me feel all proud, like if I really work for a society.

-Do you have any secret for your self-appeal?
I think that showing one's feelings is more important than any technique. Firstly you have to open your heart to the other. Then you must have interest on the other person. When I take interviews for 'News every' I always try to talk a lot and communicate to the guest before the real interview.

-Which type of girl you notice since the first meeting?
It's highly probable that I'll get a good impression of somebody who's able to greet properly watching people in the eyes. Then, I think that girls with a good figure and posture are beautiful.

-Teach us your way of making friends!
When I was a student and I wanted to be friend with somebody I approached him and talked to him a lot. I'm not shy at all. I could be good friend with anyone if I found a common interest, for example the same tastes in fashion.

-"If you become my friend you'll have this profit!" - Which one?
I can plan perfect trips. I'm very good at it, from the choice of the hotel to the research of places to visit, so leave it to me! I've got a special self-confidence since when I planned a trip in Okinawa years ago. Because I checked all the latest news and found a nice new hotel. Then my parents have a ramen restaurant so I can treat my friends ramen. So? Do you like these profits!? (lol)

-What kind of person makes you think: "I want to be his/her friend!"?
People who always smile and look happy. Just being with them I can be a little happier too, right? I also want friends with whom I can talk well, it's more funny to be together like this.

-Who in NEWS seems good to make friends or to have many friends?
Massu. After work he often says: "I'm going to eat dinner with friends now!" and it seems he often hungs out with his friends. Massu's friendly so it must be easy to him find new friends, he's the loved type of guy.

-If you didn't do this job what would you been doing now?
If I weren't a NEWS I'd work in a travel agency, I think. I can't stay sat on a desk staring in front of me so I'd be a business man who travels the world. I'd be brilliant (lol). Then, most realistically, I would have been the manager of our ramen restaurant. I'd expand our shop and make it prosper!

-If NEWS were a society, who would be the boss, the new guy, etc...what job would you have?
Ryo-chan would be the president and Yamapi the chairman. Shige the department manager. He'd check the projects of the younger employee and be very accurate. Tegoshi has good appearances so we'd put him at the acceptance. Massu is like the guy who makes the copies, the chores basically (lol). We could manage the business of a high-class hotel.

-A thing that made you say: "That's fresh!" recently.
When I went to Gunma for 'News every'. I ate the new kind of strawberries called "Yayoi hime", I was impressed by their freshness. They had the perfect consistence and a delicate balance between sweetness and sourness. They were superb.

TEGOSHI

-Did you have some opportunity to do a self-introduction recently?
I think it was during the first meeting for 'Dekawanko'. I said: "I'm Tegoshi Yuuya. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu! (smiles)", I looked everybody in the etes and talked in a cheerful way.

-Do you have any secret for your self-appeal?
Isn't it good to be just as always? If you try to hard you'll get tired, the best is to be just natural. Maybe if you're searching for appeal you should try to express your tastes and interests, so that somebody will talk to you saying: "Oh me too!".

-Which type of girl you notice since the first meeting?
Polite girls. The ones who can say greetings. Like saying properly "Itadakimasu!" and "Gochisousama deshita! (Thanks for the meal)". The ones who eat showing that the food is good. I surely want to meet again people with whom it feels good being together.

-Teach us your way of making friends!
If you spend good time together, for example playing soccer, you 'll naturally become good friends, right? That works with me!

-"If you become my friend you'll have this profit!" - Which one?
I'm the type of person who says "Follow me!", I can do anything, going out to eat, travel, playing soccer, no matter where. The best is when we're all together.

-What kind of person makes you think: "I want to be his/her friend!"?
A person that I can respect and that makes me think: "This one is really passionate!". I want to be friend with people who make me think: "If I'm friend with him I can be stupid for my whole life!". Once I'm your friend I'll be for my whole life. I'm really stubborn (lol).

-Who in NEWS seems good to make friends or to have many friends?
Kei-chan and Shige. They're friendly and they know to get on in the world, their faces are honest. They are nice with everybody, doesn't matter if it's private life or work, they have many friends. I have quite only friends related to soccer. Those two are really clever.

-If you didn't do this job what would you been doing now?
Talking about fantasy, the athlete! It's similar to being an idol, it's a work that gives dreams to the spectators. If I could be one I'd want to be a soccer player of course. I have professional soccer players friends. I know that it's not easy to become a pro but still I want to!

-If NEWS were a society, who would be the boss, the new guy, etc...what job would you have?
How about a "Entertainment Company - NEWS"? It'd be a young society so there won't be presidents. Yamashita-kun, Shige, Massu will be the project's workers, Kei-chan, Nishikido-kun and me the regular employee. Everybody would always work a lot but I'd be thinking only to have fun (lol). In my head the rate of "fun" is 95%! But that's ok. Because our company sells dreams. The idea is to connect work and fun, right? It seems that I just made it up but I thought about this a lot! But I'm just an employee...maybe (lol)

-A thing that made you say: "That's fresh!" recently.
In the last half year I'm pretty hooked to red wine, of course there are many good wines but they cost a lot. It's rare to find cheap good ones but when I do I feel very fresh. I recommend Chile's ones and Napa ones. The balance between cost and performance is very good.
SHIGE

-Did you have some opportunity to do a self-introduction recently?
Lately I arrived late at a friend's birthday party and I've been told: "Ok, now a word from Kato-san!". There were many people I didn't know so I greeted: "I'm Kato! Happy birthday!". I'm a very fast-talker so when I must introduce myself I'm always careful to speak a little slower.

-Do you have any secret for your self-appeal?
I'm the type who decides his words in advance of self-introductions. During the first meeting for 'Troubleman' I thought to add a wise "I hope to not be a troubleman until the end~". But there, I found out everybody said it too (lol). It's important to think to 2-3 replacing phrases for these cases.

-Which type of girl you notice since the first meeting?
I'm shy so I'm not able to greet people looking at them in the eyes firmly. I know how much difficult it is so I like girls who are able to do that. I also get a good impression from girls who care about their appearances. I expecially notice hands. You can somehow understand a person from them. Like, if they're rough maybe she does home chores...or the job, a pianist, florist, a baker? I'm attracted by those hands.

-Teach us your way of making friends!

I think you can become friend with somebody if you try to extend the conversation pulling out many subjects after a self-introduction. Like asking: "Do you have any hobby?". When I was a student I talked with many mates and teachers, I wanted to be in an intimate atmosphere.

-"If you become my friend you'll have this profit!" - Which one?
I'm easygoing, I never refuse an invitation! If you feel lonely to go somewhere I'll come with you also if I've got nothing to do with it! (lol). Then, friends use to talk to me about their worries...I think I'm good at listening! People usually say it about me.

-What kind of person makes you think: "I want to be his/her friend!"?
Somebody who knows a lot about something that I don't know. If there are people who are passionate of classic music, sports, horror movies, I'd like to talk with them and share our interests. I'm an hearty curious (lol).

-Who in NEWS seems good to make friends or to have many friends?
Massu has a lot of friends. Even though he fails a lot at talking and leaves you a "Eh?" feeling, he is the warm type that makes people say "Massu is so cute!" (lol). Koyama is good at making friends. He's good because it's easy to talk with him. He can talk formal and informal language well and he has a friendly look, amazing.

-If you didn't do this job what would you been doing now?
I'd be a salary man, I'd like to develop projects. I'm maybe the type who once employed would work until the retirement age.

-If NEWS were a society, who would be the boss, the new guy, etc...what job would you have?I'd be the representative director. Yamashita-kun would be the president...Ah, it'd be ok if he's there without doing anything (lol). Nishikido-kun would be the manager. Koyama in the business and Tegoshi in the media, Massu would be the security man. With such good human material it'd be a successful agency, right!?

-A thing that made you say: "That's fresh!" recently.
During the shooting for the final of 'Kinpachi Sensei' I worked with Okamoto-kun. I asked him about his studies and his hopes for the future, I thought that I want him to do his best, he remembered me when I was young and fresh (lol). It made me feel like a senpai once again~

YAMAPI

-Did you have some opportunity to do a self-introduction recently?
When I worked for the promotion of 'Ashita no Joe' I had to self-introduce many times. "I'm Yamashita Tomohisa! The movie is ready now. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!".

-Do you have any secret for your self-appeal?
I'm not the type that work too much for that (lol). I just go with a "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu". I don't like to try to show more than the necesary of myself. I just want to be natural. I'm not saying that I have a bad attitude and little enthusiasm, ok?

-Which type of girl you notice since the first meeting?
If she greets me there are high chances that I have a good impression already. It's ok just if she doesn't look too unsociable, like if she's mad of something. Maybe it's important to be a little bright. But only if it's unconsciously, natural as always!

-Teach us your way of making friends!
I don't have one! I don't try hard to make new friends, if I find somebody with whom I get on I naturally become his friend. When I was a student there was a mountain climbing event. I made many friends thanks to that. Just like that, talking and walking with mates at the same pace, right? Then I'd say: "Really, I'm so thirsty!" and he'd say "There" offering me a drink. "It's ok, you don't have to" - "No problem, I've got 2 bottles" - "Ah, well, thank you"...something like this. Right! To be friends with everybody you need 'Namacha'! So you can say out of blue: "Are you thirsty? I have Namacha!" (lol)

-"If you become my friend you'll have this profit!" - Which one?
I never stab people's back. I'm kind, not malicious, I don't betray, I don't use people. I may not always reply mails or call but I'm always there in the crisis moments!

-What kind of person makes you think: "I want to be his/her friend!"?
There aren't mere types to that. It depends from the timing, the age and the conditions so I like people who I met naturally without thinking too much. I may meet somebody and have no interest in him and meet him 5 years later and feel confortable with him, it's all possible.

-Who in NEWS seems good to make friends or to have many friends?
It'd be Koyama, wouldn't he? He's got a honest face.

-If you didn't do this job what would you been doing now?
Kamen rider! ...leaving the jokes aside (lol). I can't really tell this. I can't image it but I think I'd be a simple salary man.

-If NEWS were a society, who would be the boss, the new guy, etc...what job would you have?
Shige would be the newbie! Me and Ryo-chan would work at the reception. Because we can attract people there (lol), Tegoshi and Massu would do the work. Koyama would be the business man. Ah, I want to be one too. Monday, Wednesday, Friday at the reception, the other days working in business. Because it sounds amusing, going everyday to a different place, meeting people...The president would be Kazama-kun. I chose him because with him the society would totally be under control! (lol)

-A thing that made you say: "That's fresh!" recently.
The first snow in Tokyo. The white snow can refresh hearts.

MASSU

-Did you have some opportunity to do a self-introduction recently?
Maybe yesterday. I told to a friend of a friend: "I'm Masuda!" (lol). The first impression is important,it's true. I understand if I can be friend with somebody after 3 seconds. Seeing if they properly greet or if I like their atmosphere. I can't be good with somebody who doesn't answer your greeting. Even if he greets, if the aura is scary or not nice I don't want to be too friendly with him.

-Do you have any secret for your self-appeal?
I guess it's to greet people cheerfully. If you start talking with a "Konnichiwa!" the first impression cannot be that bad.

-Which type of girl you notice since the first meeting?
A girl with a kind of atmosphere I like. If I think about her clothes: "That cute, so fashionable!" I think that probably our interests match. If they do it'll be easy to talk and I'd want to know more about her. The appearances can tell a lot about people's characters. Sometimes when I take the train I find a girl who captures my attention. When it happens I find myself taking glimpse of her (lol).

-Teach us your way of making friends!
If you're at school and you want to make new friends the best is to approach and talk a lot, I guess. Like asking: "What do you do when you're at home?" or "Do you like school? You think it's funny?". If you ask things searching for common interests you can't go wrong!

-"If you become my friend you'll have this profit!" - Which one?
I will invite you out a lot and if you invite me I'll never refuse. Fishing, climbing mountains, travels...This year I turned from an indoor boy to an outdoor one so I want to do many things. Friends may ask to do skydiving and I'd totally go and enjoy it!

-What kind of person makes you think: "I want to be his/her friend!"?
Fashionable people. People with an amazing life style. People who request for me. People on whom I can rely if I need...We're all dispersedm right? In other words I want people with feelings matching to mine.

-Who in NEWS seems good to make friends or to have many friends?
Me? I'm not shy at all, I can talk a lot even to people I meet for the first time.

-If you didn't do this job what would you been doing now?
I'd be a baker maybe. I like bread and I love the aura of baker girls. They're all cute and fashionable! Be a baker looks funny!

-If NEWS were a society, who would be the boss, the new guy, etc...what job would you have?
The president would be Yamashita-kun. He's got the charisma and he'd protect the society. Koyama who's good at talking would be the business man. Nishikido-kun the space designer and DJ, I'd be the creator. The idol with the beautiful smile Tegoshi would be the receptionist. Shige...Shige...the temporary staff that does a lot, lot of things! These 6 people would make proposals for a fashionable life style! (lol)

-A thing that made you say: "That's fresh!" recently.
The Pcoat that was popular when I went to middle school. When old items of 10 years ago come back to fashion it's really fresh. Since it's already Spring I may not be able to wear it though...
